Both Host Hotels and Perkins will start their breakfast service at 6:00am the day of this tour. You will spend 5 hours on the Island arriving approx. 11:30am for the Ferry to the Island. Lunch will be on your own on the Island. Departure from the Island on the ferry, will be approx. 5:00pm, returning to the buses which will stop for supper on the return trip to Marquette. Please make sure you know who your bus tour guide is and follow their instructions about your departure from the Island. We do not want to leave you on Mackinac Island! Approx. arrival time back in Marquette at the Host Hotel will be about 10:30pm. Please make sure you bring along a jacket or sweatshirt as it can be cooler on the Island than on the mainland.
Pictured Rocks Boat Tour – You will board the buses at the Host Hotels at 8:00am with a departure time of 8:15am. The buses will arrive at the Boat tour docks 30 min. before departure time. The boat tours are approx. three hours in length and will start at 10:00am. Box lunches will be provided for everyone after the boat trip before the return trip to Marquette. Alberta Village Tour will have lunch available on the grounds for you to purchase. Although you were given specific departure times to Alberta the trip back to Marquette is less structured and you can leave at any time. There will be a Craft Fair on the grounds as well as the Bob Kriepke seminar to enjoy and the museum tour and Ford homes tours also, a fun- filled day will be in store for you. Do be aware of the travel time back to Marquette if you are attending any evening events.
If you are planning on attending both the Bungalow Tour (The Ford Bungalow Tour for Tuesday and Wednesday is sold out) and the Alberta Tour, please schedule them both for the same day as the Bungalow is located about 20 miles from Alberta and about 60 miles from Marquette. This will save you a long distance drive two days in a row.
All the seminars will be held at the University Center on the Northern /Michigan University Campus, except for the Car interior Seminar which will be divided into three sessions. This seminar will be showing how to do an interior using an actual car for the demonstration. The Thursday morning session will be held at the Superior Dome as well as the Thursday afternoon session. Friday’s session will be held at the University center.
The Car Interior Seminars are in 3 sessions. The first session is on Thursday morning and it will be putting a new headliner in a actual Model A, the afternoon session with be re-doing the backseat of that same car and the Friday morning session will be re-doing the side panels in the car. These sessions are long and if you ever wanted to do the interior of a Model A yourself, this demonstration is the one you need to attend before starting your interior. You do not need to attend all three sessions, but if you do attend we ask that you stay for the entire length of that specific session.
Meals are available at the University Center from 7:00am to 7:00pm, Monday through Friday.
You do not have to participate in the Car Tour to attend the Pig Roast. We hope most attending the Pig Roast will join the Car Tour as we are going for the Guinness World Record for longest Continuous line of moving Model A’s!
